WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Corey Patterson robbed Geoff Jenkins of a Homerun!

Manny Ramirez lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 4 RBI as the Cleveland
Indians beat the Oakland A's in 11 innings by a score of 11 to 10.

The game was deadlocked at 8 after nine full innings. Cleveland ended up
winning it in the 11th inning. After two outs Jim Thome opened up the rally
as he laced a base-hit. Jason Bay followed and he cracked a two-run shot
(his 15th of the season) giving Cleveland the win much to the delight of the
home town crowd. Cleveland totaled 14 hits on the night.

The victory was credited to Mike Adams(3-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Jason Isringhausen(0-4) was the losing pitcher in relief.

Catcher Ramon Hernandez smacked 3 homeruns but his offense was not enough to
carry Oakland to victory.

One run was the difference at The Ballpark as the Cleveland Indians defeated
the Oakland A's 4 to 3.

Esteban Loaiza(3-6) pitched a fine game. He went 7 and 1/3 innings
surrendering 5 hits and 5 walks. Both teams finished the game with 5 hits.

Todd Jones recorded his 1st save. Mark Mulder(7-3) was tagged with the loss.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without
his best stuff,' Mike Petersen said after the game. 'Loaiza did not have
command of his pitches most of the night, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
